A dental website redesign should not cost you the search rankings you already have

A dental website redesign done carelessly is the single fastest way to lose search rankings a practice has spent years building, because a new site with different page addresses and no redirects tells search engines the old pages are simply gone. Done properly, a redesign maps every existing page to its replacement, launches faster and better structured than before, and is the normal starting point for rankings to improve rather than fall.

Detail 01

Why an old dental site usually needs replacing, not patching

Most redesign conversations start because the current site is slow on a phone, has one crowded services page instead of a page per treatment, shows a phone number instead of a booking request, or has not been touched in years and shows it: outdated hours, a departed associate still on the team page, an expired offer. Patching those issues individually on an old, plugin-heavy platform is usually slower and more expensive than a proper rebuild.

Detail 02

Every old page gets mapped to a new one

Before launch we map every page on your current site to its equivalent on the new one and set up redirects, so a link or a search result pointing at your old services page lands on the right new treatment page instead of a dead end. This is the single most important technical step in a redesign and the one most commonly skipped by cheaper providers.

Detail 03

The new site launches faster and better structured

The redesign is not just a visual refresh on the same underlying structure. Twelve treatments crammed onto one page become individual treatment pages, a phone number becomes a booking request wired to your PMS or CRM, and the whole site is rebuilt to hit a 90+ PageSpeed guarantee rather than whatever speed the old platform happened to produce.

Detail 04

What we need from you to redesign the site

The same onboarding information as a new build, your treatment list, insurance carriers, team and location details, plus a login or export from your current site so we can map its pages accurately. We do the redirect mapping and technical migration; you review pages on a preview link as they are ready.

The build

Howitworks

Four steps, and the only one you pay for before launch is the first month.

  1. Pay the first monthly invoice

That is the whole commitment. No deposit, no build fee up front, no contract beyond the month.

  2. Fill in the onboarding form, then one call

The onboarding form takes about 15 minutes; anything missing can follow later by email or as a portal ticket. Then about an hour on a call to fill any gaps: treatments, insurance carriers, team, locations and how your front desk wants requests to arrive.

  3. We build, you approve

Pages arrive on a preview link as they are ready. You comment, we change, and the booking request is connected to your PMS or CRM and tested with a real submission.

  4. Live, then the build fee

The site goes live on your domain. Only when you confirm you are happy do we invoice the $797 one-time build fee. Weekly updates start the same week, requested from your client portal.

Speed and ads

Afastersitemakeseveryaddollarwork harder

If the practice runs Google Ads or social ads, the landing page is half the result. A slow or confusing page wastes the click you paid for. A fast, specific page helps keep it, and can help lower what you pay for the next one.

We do not promise a specific cost-per-click, percentage or ranking. We build the page the ad lands on to be fast, relevant and easy to act on.

  • Built to open fast on a phone

Static pages, compressed photos and almost no JavaScript, served from Cloudflare. Every page targets 90+ on Google PageSpeed and is re-tested after each change.

  • Easy to use with one thumb

Large tap targets, the booking request always one tap away, and the answer to the heading in its first sentence.

  • Better landing pages can lower what a click costs

Google lists landing-page experience as one of the three parts of Quality Score, and says higher-quality ads can often lead to a lower cost per click. A fast, relevant treatment page helps on both counts.

  • More of your paid clicks stay

When a page loads before the visitor gives up, fewer people bounce back to the search results, so more of the clicks you already paid for reach the booking request.

Client words

Whatpracticessayabout this work

  • The audit found our new patient appointments details repeated across several pages, each worded slightly differently. The facts have one home, and every change request names the reference page and its reviewer. Customers no longer quote wording we retired two years ago.

  • The old new patient appointments address sits in hundreds of our sent messages; breaking it was not an option. We reviewed the full redirect map before launch and checked the destinations ourselves. Launching no longer meant abandoning everyone holding an old link.

  • Our old change process for new patient appointments content was informal to the point of folklore. Every change is recorded as old text, new text, approver, then published from that record. The site finally says what we approved, not someone's best guess at it.

Questions about dental website redesign

Will a redesign hurt our current Google rankings?

Not if it is done with redirects. We map every existing page on your current site to its replacement before launch, so search engines and any links pointing at the old pages land on the equivalent new page. The usual result is rankings improving, since the new site is faster and better structured, not falling.

How long does a redesign take compared to a brand-new site?

The same launch windows apply, 7 days for a single-location practice and up to 15 for a multi-location group, counted from the onboarding call, because the process is the same build with an additional mapping step for your existing pages.

Can you keep our current domain?

Yes. The redesign launches on the same domain you already use; nothing changes for patients or your email, and we manage the DNS as part of the switch.

What if we do not have access to our current site anymore?

We can usually reconstruct the page structure from what is still visible on the live site and from search results, though a login or export makes the redirect mapping more precise. Tell us what access you have at onboarding.

What happens to our old content and photos?

Team bios, existing photography and any copy that is still accurate are reused in the new build wherever possible; we do not discard usable content just because the platform changes.

How long will our old site stay reachable during the redesign?

Your current site keeps running until the new one is approved. We build on a preview link, you comment, and only then does the domain point at the new site with every old URL redirected the same day.

Will patients notice anything change apart from the design?

The things they notice most are speed, being able to find their treatment, and being able to request a time without calling. Your phone number, address and email stay exactly as they are, and email is untouched because only the website records change.

What if our rankings drop anyway?

Redirects protect the pages that rank today, and our terms carry a commitment to keep working on local rankings within the stated window after launch. We also keep publishing researched articles every week, which is what usually moves a practice site forward rather than back.
